WHY IS MY ROOF SHOWING GROWTH?
A: The growth of mildew, black/green algae streaks, lichens [green medallions] and/or moss can be attributed to three common factors which usually determine this condition of roof growth: 1. Climate [micro and macro], 2. Roof orientation [north and north east facing] and 3. Surrounding vegetation [trees]. -
WHEN SHOULD I CLEAN MY ROOF?
A: The moment you notice growth. Attacking the growth early will result in a longer life span for the roof, and will be easier, thus cheaper to clean than a roof with heavy growth. -
DOES ROOF CLEAN PLUS USE HIGH-PRESSURE POWER WASHERS TO CLEAN ROOFS?
A: No. Using power washers can and most likely will dislodge shingles and or remove the aggregate attached to the shingle shortening the life of the roof. We use a low pressure application and rinse system to protect the integrity of the roof. -
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO CLEAN MY ROOF?
A: In most cases, a roof treatment takes one business day. However, cleaning time also depends on weather conditions, the total area to be cleaned, shingle type [asphalt or cedar], type and amount of growth present, roof accessibility [height and pitch], gutters or non guttered slopes. -
DO I NEED TO BE HOME WHEN YOU CLEAN MY ROOF?
A: No. We just require access to water and power on the property, and that all windows and doors are closed prior to cleaning. -
HOW LONG WILL MY ROOF REMAIN CLEAN AFTER TREATMENT?
A: Typically a roof will remain growth free for 3 to 5 years before showing signs of new growth. We warranty our work, so if growth should return before the waranty is up we will come and retreat the roof areas affected. -
WHAT DO YOU USE TO CLEAN THE ROOF?
A: We use a commercial grade detergent and algicide that kills the growth on the surfaces, and we use a low pressure rinse to remove the growth once it is dead. -
